Mold Assessments

At Premier Mold Inspection and Testing, our sole focus is providing clients with accurate, non-bias Mold Assessments and Mold testing Services in New York State. Those who benefit from our services include home owners, commercial properties, real estate professionals, insurance adjusters, to name a few.

According to the state of New York, a mold assessment is “an inspection or assessments of real property that is designed to discover mold, conditions that facilitate mold, indications of conditions that are likely to facilitate mold or any combination thereof”.

Initial Mold Assessment Services

We begin every Mold Assessment with a visual inspection of the subject property. During the visual inspection portion of the mold assessment, we identify areas with visible mold and or conditions that can or are likely to facilitate mold growth. Our inspection generally includes inspecting all areas of the property, including attics, basements and crawlspaces (Certain circumstances may prevent assess to these areas in some inspection).

A moisture survey is performed in conjunction with the visual inspection. Tools such as moisture meters and Thermal image cameras and borescope cameras are used to aid in the discovery of mold growth and moisture in building materials, which can lead to mold growth indoors.

More invasive measures, such as removing baseboards, or opening walls are sometimes necessary, depending on the certain circumstances.

Once the visual inspection and moisture survey are complete, we determine a mold testing strategy. The main purpose of mold testing is to determine the types of molds present and the effect the mold is having on the indoor environment. We utilize multiple types of testing methods including air sampling, surface sampling and dust collection sampling to name few. Each situation is different. That is why we develop a different testing strategy for each assessment. All New York mold testing samples are sent to a third party lab for analysis.

A mold assessment report is then provided to the client after all information is collected on site and from the laboratory results. The assessment report includes the information required by New York State mold law, needed to have a mold remediation project performed.

Clearance Inspections

Each and every Mold Assessment performed by a New York State Licensed Mold Assessor must contain procedures and criteria for clearing the Mold remediation project after the remediation company has completed their work. We provide Mold Clearance inspections in conjunction with our Initial Mold Assessments as well as providing service to clients from other Licensed Mold assessment projects.
